At Freeway, we’re on a mission to make Phoenix the next dominant tech startup hub in the country world. It’s a big goal. To get there, we need the brightest minds in the biggest seats championing entrepreneurship in our community.
What we’ve learned over the past few years is that entrepreneurship doesn’t just happen in boardrooms. It happens in classrooms, coffee shops, co-working spaces, mixers, hikes, and community gatherings. That’s why we’re excited to announce the newest member of our team, who’s on board and helping guide our course when it comes to closing gaps between our community and innovation.
Leading this effort is Kevin Clark, Freeway’s new Head of Innovation Culture.
As Phoenix continues to grow as a national hub for startups, it’s critical to nurture not only new companies but also the culture that surrounds them. What is innovation culture? It’s the amplification and development of vision, engagement, and activation. And Kevin is the ideal person to build it.
In his role, Kevin will help Freeway pilot ways of embedding innovation into the community, beginning with a strong foundation: clarifying the vision, seeding engagement, and delivering tangible activations that showcase the value of innovation culture in action.
This effort aims to create an environment where founders, students, civic leaders, and investors all feel empowered to co-create. With Kevin’s leadership, Freeway is ensuring that the startup ecosystem in Phoenix grows with intention and community at its core.
Kevin Clark brings an impressive résumé and experience bridging community, creativity, and emerging technologies. He is currently pioneering the integration of VR and AI at Numen Games, where his team develops immersive training, onboarding, and event experiences for organizations and municipalities.
A patented inventor and serial founder, Kevin has raised over $1M in seed funding for companies in digital health and Web3. His work has been featured in projects with Decentraland, RTFKT/NIKE, and oncyber, building innovative ecosystems that amplify talent and engagement. He has even been spotlighted in a CBS documentary on the metaverse.
With a career spanning education, the arts, and cutting-edge technology, Kevin is uniquely positioned to guide Freeway’s Innovation Culture initiative. His vision is rooted in community, fueled by creativity, and designed to ensure that Phoenix’s startup ecosystem is not just competitive but collaborative.
Kevin’s role signals an exciting next chapter for Freeway and the Phoenix tech community. Together, we’ll be piloting new ways to weave innovation into everyday life, making it more accessible, more human, and more impactful.
